Inspiration for Random Little Comics is Everywhere
This is backstory and a process write up on this post:
Some moments are just made to be drawn, exaggerated, exploded and explored. They feel larger than life, a sweet chaotic deviation from the mundane, so comics is the perfect medium — exaggeration, deviation, explosiveness are sewn into the DNA of comics. At the time, I had just gotten into NYC for some writer thing, can’t remember what, and all I had at my disposal was my phone; wasn’t drawing much back then. So I tweeted it out and kept it moving — definitely would think back on the moment and chuckle sometimes tho.
Then a few weeks ago I was back in NYC, now back on my drawing flow, and kept a travel sketchbook —
— which got me thinking about other JFK adventures, and boom! It had to happen.
So I set out to draw it all thinking it would be much simpler than that seven page endeavor, just a quick little jot and go about my business. LOL not what happened.
