Thank you so much. It was so hard to write but I'm so glad I did.

Thank you! I feel so small and helpless, but I’m trying to do what I can to stop this.

I'm so grateful for this, and for you. It said so much I've been trying to articulate.

Thank you so much. Really happy to hear it. I needed to write this piece so badly and it's really gratifying to have it land with other people as well. <3

Thank you - this was illuminating. I’ve felt helpless and a bit ignorant (though trying to learn a lot more). Your heartfelt words have resonated with me. I’ve reread it once already. Sending love and comfort and appreciation.

Thank you so much Sarah. It brought a lot of peace to finally get it out. Really happy it brought some light to such a hard process✨

You do not once mention Hamas or Hezbollah. How would your response to the murder of 1200 Israeli civilians in October 2023 be different from what is happening now?

Thank you for writing this, and especially for including resources at the end. It’s a tricky time to be working in Jewish spaces, when even a simply “how are you doing?” is layered with subtext. I know which colleagues I can be completely open with, and one of the rabbis led a productive talk with our faculty group. On the other hand, there are folks I don’t work as closely with who give off a “rah rah IDF” vibe, and parents/congregants are all over the map.

The original article was an airbrushed pro Palestinian view calling for peace with zero legitimacy given to israel. I find it depressing to keep reading articles which delegitimise either side's perspective. I'm not israel always right but I'll call out the rose tinted perspective which blames a very complex and tragic situation all on israel and/or Zionism.

As a Jew, and as a Jewish educator, I get frustrated with constant messages about how we must support Israel and the IDF without acknowledging that the current government is a corrupt, authoritarian shitshow bent on revenge and destruction. I love and support my friends and relatives who are from and who live in Israel. I send love to Palestinians who have lost their homes and their loved ones to violence. And the Jewish values that I was taught, and that I teach now, make it clear that we should be supporting human rights for all.

That is not my experience at all. Not one of

my Jewish friends or acquaintances has suggested I support anything. Lots of concern for hostages and tragic deaths on both sides but nothing more than that. And I don't know one person who thinks the current Israeli government have been good for Israel. Not denying your experience but its odd how our experiences are so different.
